The stepfamily journey is both confusing and challenging

Stepfamilies are different from traditional families

Stepfamily grief and loss issues coupled with changes in the family structure, roles, and traditions when two families merge complicate the stepfamily journey.

In contrast to traditional families, stepfamily relationships are vastly complex, multi layered, and confusing.

Informed stepfamilies can beat the odds

Being a single parent has its own joys and challenges

Single and Parenting

Both Dianne and David were single parents for a number of years and are familiar with the joys and challenges.

Often the freedom of being a single parent accountable only to the kids is a welcome change, but in reality, raising children following the breakup of the family is difficult and stressful.

A respectful co-parenting plan sets out mutually agreeable guidelines for your and your former partner.

Single parents are often stepparents in waiting

We understand the issues

As single parents and then stepparents we dealt with deeply painful issues during our journey to becoming a stepfamily.
